There’s no running away from it: after the holidays, ed many of us are still suffering from the effects of overeating. Many of you have probably used this as motivation to start eating healthier food, no rx and to start paying more attention to the things you’re munching on, be they snacks or full-fledged meals.
You’ve probably found that, unfortunately, that’s usually easier said than done. It’s difficult to break away from old eating habits, even when they’re unhealthy. But sometimes, all we really need is one big push, and that push can come from realizing what kind of food we’re chowing on.
Luckily for us, we don’t need to pore over nutrition labels and mercilessly track every single calories. As with many things in life, there’s now an app for that. Of course, this shouldn’t be the least bit surprising, as Gaming Realms, the company behind Free Bingo Hunter, has said that we now prefer using our mobile phones over any other device, with global smartphone and tablet user installed bases exceeding PC installed bases in 2013. You’ve probably used your phone in the kitchen too, maybe to take photos of your delicious meals, or just to answer a few emails at breakfast. Now, however, you can use your phone to help yourself stay on the path of healthy eating.
It’s all thanks to the NutriSmart System, a product that turns every meal and snack into an informative experience that not only tells you what you’re eating, but also helps you manage your eating habits. The system comes with a “smart plate” – a rather inconspicuous looking plate that holds an amazing secret: it can look into your food and read edible RFID tags. Through this, it’s able to identify how many calories a food item contains, warn against potential allergens, and maybe even show where the item was produced. It’s all built into a wonderful little plate that looks great on your countertop, too.
All the information collected by the smart plate is sent to its companion app on your smartphone or other mobile device, so you can have information on your favorite food right at the palm of your hand.
