George Forman UK have recently launched a new 5 portion grill and have sent me one to make some delicious grilled recipes with. Not only that but they’re also giving one away to one of my lucky readers! Scroll down to enter the competition.
I’ve had a George Forman grill in the past and found that it worked very well but was a real pain to clean and therefore only used it on the odd occasion. Thankfully, the new grill comes with removable plates which are dishwasher safe and make cleaning it a real doddle! To remove the plates, you simply press a button on the side of the grill to release the plates from the grill (once it’s cooled, of course) and pop in the dishwasher.
The grill is quick and easy to use with a fast pre-heating time. Despite this, on my first go, I was very impatient and tried grilling too soon. It’s definitely advisable to wait until the plates get really hot or you won’t get the same effect. It deals well with small and large food alike, from grilling chopped vegetables to grilling a large ciabatta sandwich, the hinges allow you to be quite generous with how you fill the plates.
I decided to make something savoury and something sweet, both vegan and gluten-free friendly to show that grilling isn’t all about meat!
First up, I made Penne Arrabiata with Grilled Vegetables – a wholesome and flavourful dish, suitable for any time of the year. And for dessert, I made Grilled Pears with Amaretto & Ice Cream – unbelievably delicious with that wonderful grilled texture and flavour. I’ll definitely be making this again…
So whether you’re a meat-eater or not, or whether you prefer to make savoury or sweet dishes, the George Forman grill will have you pretty much covered! Click here to read more about it.
